Virginia Driver Improvement Clinic - Classroom

DTW Driving School has been approved by Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles to offer the Virginia Driver Improvement Clinic – Classroom.

Our classroom Driver Improvement Clinic is presented on Saturdays or Sundays at our permanent office/classroom at 4625 W. Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23230. The clinic offers eight hours of instruction by qualified and experienced driver education instructors.

We cover topics such as safety and child restraints, drinking and driving, DUI's, road signs, right of way, speed limits, stopping distances, steering wheel hand positions, signaling for turns, sharing the road with pedestrians and bicycles, expressway driving, rural and wilderness driving challenges, minimum insurance requirements, and accident preparedness. When you complete the course, you will have up-to-date knowledge of the rules of the road, laws for drivers, and accident avoidance.

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles requires that students take a minimum of 8 hours to complete a driver improvement course. Your instructor will manage classroom time, breaks for lunch, etc., so that you can get out on time. Also your instructor will verify your identity as the student who registered for the course, so that proper credit for completion can be transmitted to DMV.

Finally, to successfully complete the course, students must pass a final exam with a minimum score of 80%. But don't worry - it's not rocket science, and we help you to prepare with short quizzes and completion of a student workbook during the course. The final exam is given as a part of the classroom course. You do not have to go to a separate testing site to complete it.

We will notify you immediately of your graduation, and we electronically report your completion to the DMV. You may obtain an official copy of your student Certificate of Completion when complete the course.
